The HC-SERIAL-SFP is an industrial grade fiber media converter that provides a rugged solution to extend asynchronous RS-232, RS-485 or RS-422 serial transmissions over a fiber optic circuit. The converter is capable of transporting both RS-232 and RS-485-422 interfaces simultaneously and independtly of one another. Interfaces for connection to RS-232 (3 wire) and RS-485 (2 or 4 wire, half or full duplex)/RS-422 (4 wire, full duplex) and available separately on the 7 pin block connector on the front panel of the media converter. The HC-SERIAL-SFP Series secures asynchronous serial data transmissions over EMI resistant fiber at speeds up to 256kbps. HC-SERIAL-SFP media converter features two redundant DC power inputs. The media converter's industrial design is perfect for keeping your industrial automation applications running smoothly and continuously. The HC-SERIAL-SFP media converter is available with an extended -40° to 75°C operating temperature range.

Note: For the HC-SERIAL-SFP converter a 155M rated (OC3) SFP transceiver must be used. Any 155M SFP (100Base-FX) can be used: multimode, singlemode, BiDi, CWDM or DWDM with reach up to 160Km are available on the market.
