The RB-SERIAL is a SET of TWO fiber media converters that extend asynchronous RS-232 and RS-485/RS-422 serial interfaces over one strand only of a fiber optic circuit, either SM or MM type. The set is capable of transporting both RS-232 and RS-485/422 interfaces simultaneously and independently of one another. Interfaces for connection to RS-232 (3 wire) and RS-485 (2 or 4 wire, half or full duplex)/RS-422 (4 wire, full duplex) are available separately on the 7-pin block connector on the front panel of the media converter. The RB-SERIAL secures asynchronous serial data transmissions over EMI resistant fiber at speeds up to 256kbps. RB-SERIAL media converter units have DC 12V power inputs and include small separate AC adapters. The media converter's design is perfect for keeping your automation applications running smoothly and continuously. The RB-SERIAL media converter set has built-in wall mounting wings and includes the AC adapters.
