Description

POE-01-DIN67 is an in-line RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet Cat6 cable surge protector that can be attached to a DIN rail system. The DIN67 version is hardened for outdoor installation and waterproof IP67 rated. It installs simply on a Cat5, Cat 5e or Cat6 4 twisted pair cable. It can be exposed to elements by using waterproof RJ45 self sealing nuts. Device is using special diodes and gas discharge modules for effective lightning protection. It protects any RJ45 Gigabit or Fast Ethernet based device like switches, DSL modems, routers, computers, etc. while allowing PoE 802.3af/at powered cables to pass through the PoE power to remote cameras or WiFi/VoIP equipment. The PoE feature allows protection of the expensive CO equipment against lightning and other industrial power surges. When installed on a DIN rail, up to 16 such protectors can be put side by side in a 20" wide DIN rail. For 35mm DIN rails, please check the related items for mounting protectors, such as DINRAIL-19.

Earthing bars for 10 units are sold separately. These bars connect the grounding of all DIN rail installed protectors and then provide a single point for grounding to the electrical ground. Such connection is crucial for the efficiency of the protectors and the copper bars are best conductors for grounding. For copper earthing bars DIN-GBAR-10, please also check the related items. A DIN-GBAR-10 can be cut to length to accommodate a group of less than 10 units of surge protectors.

The 8 pin surge protector is also good for RJ48c 100ohm T1 interfaces, providing effective surge protection on all 8 pin connectors from the T1 copper interface.

Note
: This special surge protector version does SUPPORT the IEEE 802.3af/at PoE standard (Power over Ethernet). You can use such protector on PoE active cabling. The compatibility is assured with the IEEE 802.3af/at standard by supporting a much higher clamping voltage of 57V.
