Fiber Gateways
Fiber gateways are all-in-one devices used in Active Ethernet deployments based on FTTH (Fiber-To-The-Home) access. A fiber gateway replaces the traditional ADSL gateway by offering true Gigabit full duplex bandwidth capacity. It also adds up telephone lines, a router and a WiFi access point for local area networking. Fiber gateways (also called IADs) are targeted for high-end residential fiber subscribers or small business customers.
Fiber gateways are the FTTX CPE equipment providing LAN and WiFi connectivity, router, VoIP phone ports and IPTV pass through functions. They all have at least one optical fiber uplink, some including built-in fiber trays for compact installations.
