Product description
The ROC3-NMC is the most powerful management tool available for the ROC3 Optical Platform. ROC3-NMC is powered by a very capable ARM9 processor. The management card has 4 data ports (2x SFP slots 100Base-X and 2x RJ45 10/100Base-Tx) for management network connectivity. A local LCD screen and keypad are available on the front panel of the ROC3-NMC card for OOB (Out-Of-Band) setup as well as a serial console port. The management card supports SNMP v1/v2/v3, Telnet, SSH v1/v2, Web GUI, TACACS authentication and provides a rapid function card configuration and intelligent management.
The ROC3-NMC card fits into any of the ROC3 chassis: either 4, 8 or 16 slots one, all take the same management card. There are many optical cards for the ROC3, all can be managed via ROC3-NMC. Among the optical cards available for ROC3 platform we can find transponders for 100G, 25G, 10G and lower speeds, like ROC3-100G-3R, CWDM and DWDM mux demux cards going as far as 40 channels in an AAWG configuration (ROC3-DWDM-AAWG) or ROC3-OLPS35 1:1 optical protection cards. Many other function cards, such as EDFA amplifiers, DCM compensation modules, Optical Switches, Variable Attenuators or FWDM cards are available for the ROC3 chassis. Platform is dimensioned for 19" rack mounting and has 23" rack adapting brackets available on demand. ROC3 Chassis is a perfect choice for high density managed optical transport solutions, providing up to 16x 100G channels conversion.
The ROC3 chassis series provide redundant power supply system with "hot swap" feature, to provide continuous smooth operation of the units installed. The ROC3-NMC card is also hot-swappable, settings are stored in each line card and in case of an NMC malfunction, card can be removed and a newly inserted card will automatically read all line card configurations and store them locally, so the chassis keeps running unimpeded.
