The ROC3-25G-3R is a quad density OEO transponder card for the ROC3 platform. Card offers 3R functions (Re-Amplify, Re-Shape and Re-Timing), acting as a high-capacity transponder for fiber media conversion (MM to SM, CWDM or DWDM), amplifying signal and offering complete OEO regeneration. It offers a quadruple density of 4 separate 25G channels per card, reaching a density of 16 channels per 1RU when loaded into any ROC3-CH chassis. ROC3-25G-3R complements other WDM, OADM, DCM and EDFA cards for a complete high density managed optical transport solution.
The ROC3-25G-3R card fits into any of the ROC3 chassis: either ROC-CH04, ROC-CH08 or ROC-CH16 model. There are many other optical cards for the ROC3 platform, all can be managed via ROC3-NMC card. Among the optical cards available for ROC3 platform we can find transponders for 100G, 25G, 10G and even lower speeds such as Gigabit or Fast Ethernet, CWDM and DWDM mux demux cards going as far as 40 channels in an AAWG configuration (ROC3-DWDM-AAWG) or ROC3-OLPS35 1:1 optical protection cards. Many other function cards, such as EDFA amplifiers, DCM compensation modules, Optical Switches, Variable Attenuators or FWDM cards are available for the ROC3 chassis. Platform is dimensioned for 19" rack mounting and has 23" rack adapting brackets available on demand. ROC3 Chassis is a perfect choice for high density managed optical transport solutions, providing up to 8x 100G channels conversion per single RU of space.
The ROC3 chassis series provide redundant power supply system with "hot swap" feature, to provide continuous smooth operation of the units installed. The ROC3-25G-3R card is also hot-swappable, settings are stored in the ROC3-NMC management card. In case of a transponder card malfunction, card can be removed and a newly inserted card will automatically be programmed by the NMC card with previously saved configuration, so the chassis keeps running unimpeded and without any programming effort from technician to recommission the new card.
