The HC-SERIAL-SFP is a SET of TWO industrial grade fiber media converters that extend asynchronous RS-232 and RS-485/RS-422 serial interfaces over one strand only of a fiber optic circuit, either SM or MM type. The set is capable of transporting both RS-232 and RS-485/422 interfaces simultaneously and independently of one another. Interfaces for connection to RS-232 (3 wire) and RS-485 (2 or 4 wire, half or full duplex)/RS-422 (4 wire, full duplex) and available separately on the 7 pin block connector on the front panel of the media converter. The HC-SERIAL-SFP Series secures asynchronous serial data transmissions over EMI resistant fiber at speeds up to 256kbps. HC-SERIAL-SFP media converter units have each two redundant DC power inputs. The media converter's industrial design is perfect for keeping your industrial automation applications running smoothly and continuously. The HC-SERIAL-SFP media converter set is available with an extended -40° to 75°C operating temperature range.

Note: With the HC-SERIAL-SFP serial extender set a pair of BiDi 1.25G SFP transceivers 20Km reach are include. Any other Gigabit rated SFPs can be used: multimode, singlemode, BiDi, CWDM or DWDM with reach up to 120Km.

serial media converters
had a ground introduced while installing new telecom equipment in a a control room enviroment . used these to isolate the ground and systems returned to normal status. easy set up and robust design these will survive the harsh Enviromint they are installed at temps dip close to 0 in the winter
