Serial converters allow various computer based devices, communications equipment or industrial machines with serial communications ports to interface each other.

The range of serial converters includes devices that convert broad available serial interfaces like RS232 or RS485, but also more specific ones like V.35, X.21, RS449 or TTL and current loop interfaces.
