POE-RM-08 - 8 port Full 8 pin Cat6 RJ45 2.5G/Gigabit Ethernet surge protector with PoE support 19" rack mountable, modular

POE-RM-08 is a 1RU 19" rack mountable 8 port in-line RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet/2.5G Cat6 cable surge protector that is modular and expandable to a total of 24 surge protectors in same enclosure. The building block of the POE-RM-08 is the 8POE-SP board.

A total of three 8POE-SP boards can be installed in the POE-RM-08. By default the rack mountable unit INCLUDES one 8POE-SP module offering 8 individual Gigabit Ethernet surge protectors. As before, the protectors install simply on a Cat5, Cat 5e or Cat6 4 twisted pair cable. Device is using special diodes and gas discharge modules for effective lightning protection. It protects any RJ45 Gigabit or slower Ethernet device like switches, DSL modems, routers, computers, etc. while allowing PoE 802.3af/at powered cables to pass through the PoE power to remote cameras or WiFi/VoIP equipment. The PoE feature allows protection of the expensive CO equipment against lightning and other industrial power surges. The POE-RM-08 occupies only 1RU of 19" rack space.

Note: This special surge protector version does SUPPORT the IEEE 802.3af/at PoE standard (Power over Ethernet). You can use such protector on PoE active cabling. The compatibility is assured with the IEEE 802.3af/at standard by supporting a much higher clamping voltage of 58V.
