RB-3GSDI-01-T 3G SDI over SM or MM fiber transmitter single strand, 20Km reach, with RS485 channel transport, SMPTE 424M, Industrial hardened

The Robofiber RB-3GSDI series are digital video fiber media converters using standardized all digital optical fiber transmission technology supporting SMPTE standards. HD SDI and 3G SDI video signals can be transmitted at high quality resolution for long reaches and without any distortion through only 1 strand of fiber optic cable. Status LEDs indicate operating mode of the converters, acknowledging proper fiber, video and serial connectivity. The embedded RS485 /RS232 interface allows remote control via fiber for automation applications of monitoring and control. The RB-3GSDI series are hardened for Industrial applications with wide operating temperature range and surge protectors.

RB-3GSDI-01-T is the transmitter unit that must be matched with the RB-3GSDI-01-R receiver unit. A single strand of fiber, either SM type up to 20Km or MM type up to 2Km reach can be used between transmitter and receiver. And an RS-485 serial interface with 2 pin block connector is available and provides transmission of serial controls from receiver back to transmitter. Maximum serial data rate is 400Kbps asynchronous. This interface helps with controls that can be made from remote end (like PTZ camera control, door lock, alarm buzzer or lights or any other smart remote devices).The RB-3GSDI converters can be installed in the RB-CH16 2RU, 19" rack mountable chassis. An additional plate needs to be changed for the same converter to be installed in the chassis.
