T1 over Ethernet (TDM/IP)

The T1 over Ethernet extenders are using TDM-over-IP technology to transmit/extend TDM based interfaces over the Internet. T1 can be transmitted over Ethernet and IP based networks using these extenders. An individual T1 over IP, the IPM-1T1 and a quad T1 over IP, the IPM-4T1 are available in the TDMoIP family. A 4 T1 unit can connect via IP networks with up to four different single T1 units for a "star" network configuration.

TDM over IP equipment allows companies to keep their legacy T1 compatible gear (PBX/routers/wireless infrastructure) and emulate that interface using the wide present Internet connectivity.
