Fiber Chassis
Fiber chassis are devices that aggregate multiple media converters in a single rack mountable enclosure. Some models offer only a simple centralized power supply, like the unmanaged FMC series, while others offer power redundancy and centralized SNMP or in-band TS-1000 or 802.3ah management. The aggregation level also varies, from small 8 slot only fiber chassis to 48 port density fiber aggregation in a single unit.
 The FMC chassis series are simple and small fiber rack mount chassis solutions. FMC chassis accomodate up to 8 FMC unmanaged fiber media converters and offer a single AC or DC power supply. Two FMC chassis can be installed side by side in a 19" rack.

 FRM301 is the most popular 19" rack mountable fiber chassis. It accommodates up to 16 fiber media converters from the FIB1 series, has two slots for redundant and hot swappable AC or DC power supply and supports SNMP, telnet or console management.

 FRM401 is the highest aggregation chassis with SNMP management. Chassis has 12 slots that use special 4 port fiber cards for Fast or Gigabit Ethernet, dual redundant and hot swappable power supplies (AC or DC) and an SNMP management card.

 The newest rack 19" fiber chassis is the FRM220. It supports web, telnet, console or 802.3ah/TS-1000 management. Maximum capacity is 38 fiber converter ports either Fast or Gigabit Ethernet on only 2U of rack when using special dual fiber port converters.
